Home for the Holidays Contest: Loveable Leftovers


Next Day Dinner

¼ cup chopped onion

1 cup mushroom pieces

¼ cup butter

2½ cups cooked noodles

2 cups cubed turkey

Salt and pepper to taste

1 can cream of mushroom soup

½ cup chopped celery

2 cups leftover gravy

1 cup bread crumbs (dry out leftover rolls)

Saute onions and mushrooms in butter. Place 1 cup of noodles in casserole. Top with 1 cup cold turkey and seasonings. Add layer, half soup, celery, onions, add mushrooms. Repeat layers. Pour gravy over all. Top with remaining noodles and toasted bread crumbs.

Bake at 300 degrees until bubbly and browned. Serves six.
