The Call reports that Green Park Mayor Tony Konopka will establish a committee to study business licenses. Now that’s scary — not the studying of business licenses, but the establishing of a committee.
I have been leery of committees ever since one was formed years ago to use its combined expertise to calculate whether an asteroid would strike the earth. I said back then that by the time the committee reached any kind of conclusion, the asteroid would have either hit us or missed us by a couple hundred billion miles.
Apparently, it missed us, and we owe the committee our heartfelt thanks — as I’m sure we will owe Mayor Konopka’s committee when — or if — they thrash things out with the business licenses.
