To the editor:

As our family rebuilds following our house fire on Dec. 7, we would like to write and thank the Oakville community, Lindbergh Schools and Dierbergs for their generous support and prayers during this trying time in our lives.

Surviving a fire has been an overwhelming ordeal. Through your donations of gift cards, money, clothes and so much more, we have been able to get back on our feet.

We now are staying in a rental home and have clothes for everyone. We have been blessed to have so many wonderful, generous people come to our rescue.

It is during times like these that we realize what is important in life and to appreciate the blessings that have been bestowed upon us.

We appreciate the Dierbergs family, who “adopted” us for Christmas, and the Lindbergh Schools community, which collected donations, organized fundraisers and donated clothing, gift cards and so much more.

Thank you as well to the Oakville schools and churches who extended their hands to assist us.

With everyone’s help, we were able to have a happy holiday and have begun to rebuild our lives. Thanks again for your generosity.
