At last, construction is making headway at the site of the future Lindbergh Farmers’ Club, located at 10140 Concord School Road. The 3.56-acre property is set to become a K-12 agricultural learning center for Lindbergh Schools, with a soft opening in spring 2027 and a grand opening that fall.
Though ground has technically been “broken,” Lindbergh Schools will host its celebratory groundbreaking ceremony in the first week of April, says the district’s Chief Communications Officer Beth Johnston. Staff wanted to wait for fairer weather.
“Agriculture (education) is the hub,” Superintendent Tony Lake said about the Lindbergh Farmers’ Club, which will be a half-day hands-on program for students from every Lindbergh building. “But there’s going to be engineering involved there. There’s going to be entrepreneurial (opportunities), business and marketing there. There’s going to be different types of science and drone aviation, since that’s such a big part of farming now.”
He added, “Agriculture is the center, but then all these spokes come into it, with all these other fields, experiences and learning opportunities for students.”
The construction company, BSI Constructors, is currently clearing the lot and getting the foundation set. As of The Call’s press time, Lindbergh was still waiting on its building permit to begin the actual building’s construction, though Lake expected approval within the week.
Trees are currently being cleared by the company, though Lake says “quite a bit of trees” will remain on the site in order to create a native Missouri forest. Invasive species are being removed to make this happen.
As construction is underway, Lindbergh is looking for two full-time employees to fill the new roles of On-Site Educator and Farm Manager for the club. Lake hopes to have people in these positions for a start date of July 1, so they can work through the school year to prepare for the Lindbergh Farmers’ Club’s opening.
Lake says the addition of these two roles is “budget-neutral,” due to two members of staff and faculty retiring or shifting roles. While Lindbergh’s enrollment is still increasing, Lake says it’s not increasing at as high a rate as they’re used to, requiring fewer new teachers — they were able to allot the funds that would have gone to extra teaching salaries to these two roles.
A soft opening is planned for spring 2027, where students will get to be in the building for the first time — construction should be completely done by then. The grand opening ceremony will take place in fall 2027 to officially celebrate the years of hard work to make this project a reality, as well as the opportunity for new hands-on learning for Lindbergh students.
“A year from now, we’re hoping to have the building done and have kids be in it, see how the space functions, with the idea of a full program launch in the fall,” Lake said.
Lindbergh Schools originally purchased the lot at 10140 Concord School Road in early 2021. The site was formerly the Concord Farmers’ Club, which was in operation from 1873 until January of that year. It was once a meeting place for farmers to sell their produce, and over time, it served as an event center. The historical, on-site building from the Concord Farmers’ Club was demolished by Lindbergh in August 2025.
