I had the experience of holiday shopping last Saturday at the Westfield Shoppingtown Crestwood.
I was excited to find a great parking spot within 100 feet of the main entrance. But once inside, my mood quickly changed.
The mall was nearly empty of patrons as well as quality stores.
I found it very depressing.
Growing up in Crestwood and living here most of my life, I remember the holiday shopping days when the place was packed with people, festive modern stores, vibrant and alive.
I understand there are plans for redevelopment and a sale of the property.
The time has come to say goodbye to the old mall.
Crestwood needs a shot in the arm. Otherwise it, too, will become a dreary, sad place like the mall that bears its name.
