As the indictment of County Executive Sam Page continues to unfurl, 3rd District Councilman Dennis Hancock, R-Fenton, has announced his campaign for the Republican nomination for St. Louis county executive.

His campaign will launch at Helen Fitzgerald’s Irish Grill & Pub, 3650 S. Lindbergh Blvd., on Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to the public, and Hancock invites community members to join him as he begins his campaign against Sam Page.
According to St. Louis Public Radio, “Though he did not call for Page to resign, Hancock said Page needed to think seriously about how an ongoing criminal trial would impact his ability to govern.”
The last Republican county executive was H.C. Milford, who served from October 1989 to January 1991.
Hancock was elected to the County Council in November 2022 and has served on it since 2023. Prior to that, he was the mayor of Fenton for 12 years.
