The Bayless School District announced Feb. 17 that it had hired Amelia A. Ruzicka as the next superintendent of the district, effective July 1.
Ruzicka has worked in the district for the past 14 years as a teacher, instructional coordinator and assistant superintendent.
Ruzicka will succeed Superintendent Ronald J. Tucker, who announced in December that he would retire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year after 22 years with the district. Tucker has been superintendent for the past 10 years and has worked in Bayless since 2000.
The Bayless Board of Education unanimously selected Ruzicka following a search that drew 22 applicants.
