Bass Pro seeks conditional use permit

The Bass Pro Shops development in Sunset Hills is seeking a conditional use permit to include boat sales and rentals.

According to a draft agenda of the Oct. 5 meeting of the Sunset Hills Planning and Zoning Committee, Bass Pro Shops will be seeking a CUP for a change in use at 3600 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Bass Pro Shops announced last August that it would open its third St. Louis location in the Shoppes at Sunset Hills shopping center, taking over the former Toys “R” Us  and Ross Dress for Less.

At the time of the announcement, The Tile Shoppe would remain in the shopping center but it has since been acquired by Bass Pro Shops. The Sunset Hills Bass Pro will now be a larger “outdoor world” rather than a Bass Pro “outpost.” The outdoor world will offer boat sales and rentals, thus triggering the need for a CUP.

The planning commission meets Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at Sunset Hills City Hall, 3939 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
