Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

As a father of four children in Lindbergh Schools – a middle schooler and three elementary schoolers – the future is my focus.

More specifically, the future of education is my focus, because without education as a top priority for the state of Missouri, everything else in our community falls into jeopardy.

Without proper funding of our school districts, and without significant support of our teachers, our collective future is dim.

In addition to improving education outcomes, we need to be sure to provide ongoing opportunities for our kids to develop a strong character to become collaborative individuals and team players for the “Information and Innovation Age” of today and tomorrow.

Because education is so critically important, I am urging fellow parents, neighbors, community members and local businesses to join me in supporting Erica Hoffman for the 96th District of the Missouri House of Representatives.

As a former teacher and as a volunteer for many community organizations and endeavors, I know that Erica will apply her common sense approach and team-building skills to do what what’s best for our community.

She will not be swayed by the political money that unfortunately dictates what so many politicians do today.

I’ve seen firsthand how Erica Hoffman effectively works and collaborates with every member of our community, as she was the first person to reach out to me to discuss how we might develop and advance anti-bullying education and bullying prevention initiatives in our schools.

The result of our discussions together and her engagement of others within the community led to the significant formation of the successful and ongoing parent-driven Upstanders Anti-Bullying Collaborative earlier this year.

Now more than ever, we need a representative that won’t compromise the family principles that have been the foundation of our community’s growth – from solid education for the future, to reasonable child care, to initiatives to help working families grow, to affordable quality health care.

We need an honest representative in the 96th District.

We need a representative who will not just selectively “talk the talk” but who will always genuinely “walk the walk” for everyone in our community.

Again, I am respectfully urging parents, neighbors, community members and local businesses to join me in supporting Erica Hoffman for the 96th District of the Missouri House of Representatives.
