This is an amazing cracker or rye bread spread. The better the ingredients in this recipe, the better the results.
German Beer Cheese Pot
8 ounce high quality cheddar cheese block, hand shredded
4 ounces cream cheese
⅓ cup full flavor beer (a dark beer works best)
⅓ clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp dried mustard
Measure beer and allow to go “flat.” Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor, fitted with a steel blade. Process until smooth. Pack in a crock or a glass container, and allow to age for 7 days before serving. This recipe relies on quality ingredients and aging. Serve with a sturdy cracker or rye bread. This will keep refrigerated for the entire holiday season, 3 weeks or more. It truly gets better with time.
