To the editor:
I refer to Carl Hendrickson’s article on the redistricting in the St. Louis Call’s Aug. 26 edition.
As I understand it, the main requirement for rating districts is equal population. For Missouri’s congressional districts, why couldn’t the state be divided into eight blocks of equal population.
I think this would be a straightforward task for a mathematician.
The districts for the state’s two houses could be similarly drawn.
Surely this would be a lot simpler process than the one Mr. Hendrickson so ably informed us on.
