The St. Louis County Planning Commission will meet for its monthly public hearing Monday to hear proposals for a veterinary clinic and pet daycare facility in South County.
The commission meets Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the County Council chambers at the county government center in Clayton, 41 S. Central Ave.
The first hearing is a request for amended C-8 zoning from Michael and Stacy Klingler for a veterinary clinic, pet daycare facility and all C-2 Shopping District permitted uses at 5712 Telegraph Road.
According to the concept plan, the proposal would convert the existing 3,382-square-foot building on the .41-acre tract at the address into a veterinary clinic on the first floor and kennel area in the basement. Pet daycare, dog grooming and dog boarding would all occur on site.
The proposals include a fenced-in area in the rear for dogs to relieve themselves only, but no open kennels or exercise yard.
The request is in the 6th County Council District of Councilman Ernie Trakas and the Mehlville School District.
Other petitions set to be heard by the commission Monday are a request from Ameren for a telecommunications tower and electrical substation in the 7th County Council District, as well as a request from Pickup Outfitters for amended C-8 zoning in the 2nd County Council District.
According to the agenda, Ameren is requesting a conditional use permit to construct a telecommunications tower and electrical substation on a 20.47-acre tract at 18857 U.S. Highway 66 in Pacific.
Pickup Outfitters is requesting amended C-8 and C-8 to R-2 zoning on a 3.03-acre tract for parking, outdoor storage and advertising signs at 2858 N. Lindbergh Blvd.
Pickup Outfitters is a St. Louis-based auto parts store.
