In recognition of his exemplary co-curricular leadership experiences and his outstanding academic record at Oakville Senior High School, senior Todd Kulage has been designated as a recipient of the Truman Leadership Award at Truman State University.

The Truman Leadership Award includes the full cost of tuition, as well as room and board fees for the 2004-2005 school year at Truman State University. In addition, the award potentially is renewable based on scholarship renewal guidelines established by the university.

The Truman Leadership Award is one of Truman’s most prestigious scholarships. It was established to recognize some of the most promising young leaders in Missouri and the nation, while honoring Missouri’s only U. S. president, Harry S. Truman.

Kulage, 18, was reminded in his award letter that he is an individual with great promise for leadership.

His Truman Leadership Award includes a program that will extend throughout his four years at Truman State, and will provide him opportunities to grow and develop as a leader through special training, mentoring and service experiences.

Kulage’s special training will include a seminar on the “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.”

Besides the Truman Leadership Award, Kulage was named to the 2004 Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Team and selected as a Scholar Athlete by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The son of Gerald and Cynthia Kulage, Kulage plans to major in business at Truman State University.
