State Rep. Jim Murphy, R-Oakville, and the Mehlville Fire Protection District are partnering to offer “Stop the Bleed” training. Training will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at MFPD Engine House 5, 11020 Mueller Road.
Multiple classes will be available and will last one hour each. Pre-registration is required. Those interested in participating can register at mehlvillefire.com/stop-the-bleed, or by scanning the QR code at callnewspapers.com.
Participants will receive a “Stop the Bleed Kit,” a $50 value.
According to MPFD, someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as five minutes, making bleeding control an important skill to learn.
The fire district previously partnered with area school districts like Lindbergh Schools, to train educators in bleed control techniques.
