An 18-year-old St. Louis resident has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries and thefts in south St. Louis County.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said Sept. 23 that Eugene Times, of the 6000 block of Enright Avenue in St. Louis, faces multiple charges including two counts of first-degree burglary, three counts of stealing firearms, three counts of stealing motor vehicles, three counts of stealing credit cards, one count of stealing property valued at $750 or more and one count of first-degree property damage.
Times is being held on a $125,000 cash-only bond. The charges are merely accusations, and Times is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
According to the probable cause statement, the offenses occurred between mid-July and early August 2024 across South County. Victims reported various thefts, including stolen firearms, credit cards and motor vehicles, as well as home burglaries. One victim reported a Land Rover stolen from their home using a garage door opener, while another victim witnessed their GMC Sierra being driven away from their residence.
Another theft involved a 2023 Toyota Tundra, where the window was smashed, and a debit card was stolen from inside. In another instance, a .38 caliber firearm was stolen from an unlocked vehicle, while the final victim reported the theft of a credit card and a laptop from their unlocked vehicle.
Investigators linked Times to the crimes through GPS data from an ankle monitor he was wearing from a pending case in St. Louis city. Police obtained the data, which they said placed Times at the scene of each crime. His fingerprint was also found at the scene of one of the vehicle thefts.
Times denied participating in the crimes during questioning but admitted he had not removed the ankle monitor.
The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Property is leading the investigation.
