Families who have a tradition of walking or taking a carriage through St. Louis County Park’s Winter Wonderland at Tilles Park will have to make alternative plans this year after the county parks department said that it would eliminate walk nights and carriage rides for the annual holiday light show.
The parks department made the announcement in a Facebook post Tuesday, citing the closure of the St. Louis Carriage Company and losing access to the McCarthy Construction parking lot as some of the driving factors behind this year’s changes. The drive-thru option will still be offered this season.
The 38th annual Winter Wonderland season starts Friday. Nov. 17 at Tilles Park, 9551 Litzinger Road, with the grand opening scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 22. The county is still working on the drive-thru schedule; the completed schedule will be available at www.winterwonderlandstl.com when the season gets closer.
