Kelsey Lee Evans, a sophomore at Ur-suline Academy, has been named a recipient of a William A. Gilbert Family Foun-dation scholarship for the 2005-2006 academic year.
She is an honor-roll student who has been recognized locally by Ursuline for outstanding community service and nationally for superior performance on standardized testing.
A former member of the St. Louis Children’s Choirs, she had the lead role in Ursuline’s Fall Murder Mystery Dinner Theater and appears regularly in Kirkwood Youth Theater productions.
Kelsey is a 2004 graduate of St. Cath-erine Laboure School in Sunset Hills where she remains an active member of the parish’s youth group.
Her scholarship award covers tuition, books and the Ursuline Down Under mini-semester in Auckland, New Zealand, and Sydney, Australia.
She is the daughter of Vicky McMonagle of Crestwood.
The William A. Gilbert Family Foun-dation provides scholarships to the children of employees of Upbeat Inc., Land-scape Brands, Clean City and Fusion Coat-ings. This year the foundation received 27 applications and awarded seven scholarships. In the two years since the founding of the scholarship program, more than $118,000 has been awarded.
