Oakville High School will host Special Olympics athletes from across the state for the first time for the St. Louis Powerlifting Meet at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 15.
Athletes will compete in the bench press and deadlift events for a chance to qualify for the state Special Olympics set for May 29 to May 31 at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Saturday’s event will take place in Gym A of Oakville Senior High School, 5557 Milburn Road. Nearly 70 OHS students will volunteer their time to organize and host this event, which is free and open to the public.
