Indians, Pilgrims and ‘Tom Turkey’ celebrated Thanksgiving with Mehlville School District Early Childhood pupils. Preschoolers created their own pilgrim hats and Indian headbands for a feast, while the Junior Class from Mehlville High School paired up with youngsters and discussed the importance of Thanksgiving. The pupils wrote down their thoughts and tied them to balloons for a launch outside to celebrate what means the most to them at Thanksgiving. Afterward, a surprise visit from Tom Turkey highlighted a good old-fashioned Thanksgiving feast where everyone had plenty to eat. This is the fifth year that the Mehlville High students have chosen Early Childhood as their community service project. Visiting with Tom Turkey, from left, are: Early Childhood pupils Rachel Meister, Kaitlyn Neinhaus, Brenna Blanchette and Corey Chase.
