Recent Oakville Senior High School graduate Chad Gendron has been selected as one of 50 St. Louis metro area All-Stars to participate in the second annual PNC Bank High School Baseball Showcase presented by Rawlings.
The two teams of high school All-Stars, featuring standouts from both Missouri and Illinois, will be managed by former St. Louis Cardinals players Mike Matheny and John Mabry, according to a news release. In addition to the baseball game, Gendron and his fellow All-Stars will participate in a Home Run Derby, Speed Challenge and Throwing Accuracy Drill.
Gendron, who pitched for the OHS Tigers baseball team, will continue his baseball career at Maryville University this fall.
The event will take place Monday, June 20, at Busch Stadium. The Home Run Derby/Skills Competition will begin 10 a.m. and the All-Star Game will begin at 1:15 p.m.
