The Mehlville School District community collected 5,411 pounds of food for Feed My People and Gateway Food Pantry during the week of Oct. 7 through 11 through this year’s Mehlville-Oakville Fill Up The Pick Up, a grassroots food collection that started in Oakville during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both Feed My People and Gateway Food Pantry serve families in need who live within the Mehlville School District boundaries.
This is the third Fill Up the Pickup food collection the Mehlville School District has participated in. Last February, almost 4,300 pounds of food were collected.
