The Mehlville School District is hosting the second installment of its speaker series focusing on its “Portrait of Graduate” with the second event set for Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The event, titled “Persistence During the Pandemic,” features Bryan Pearlman, educator and mental health therapist, and a panel of mental health experts.

The free event will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 at Oakville Middle School, 5950 Telegraph Road. Parents and community members are encouraged to attend.

Pearlman will present from 7-7:30 p.m. on approaches parents can use themselves or with their children to reduce anxiety, and self-care techniques to help families move forward with better mental health.

A panel discussion will follow.

The speaker series is designed to engage parents in the traits identified in the district’s Portrait of a Graduate description of traits it wants students to graduate with: Creative and Critical Thinker, Self Aware, Persistent, Communicator and Ethical and Global Citizen.

The first installment of the speakers series was held in November 2019, but  had to be put on pause due to COVID-19.
