Lindbergh/Mehlville named top districts for dual credit

St. Louis Community College recently named Lindbergh Schools and the Mehlville School District two of the top five districts in the state due to their dual credit course offerings.

Lindbergh Schools earned certificates of recognition from STLCC as a top-five school district for five categories and top-overall school district in the following two categories — most St. Louis Community College Dual Credit Students, with 312 students enrolled in at least one dual credit course last school year, and Most Money Saved in College Costs for Students in 2020-21 with $904,791 saved. Mehlville was named a top five district as well, with 48 enrolled in the dual enrollment program, and Mehlville students saved an estimated total of $319,044 through those courses. Lindbergh has 42 students in the dual enrollment program.

Lindbergh Superintendent Tony Lake said the enhancement of the program started four years ago after he evaluated some of the main priorities of the community.

“This particular program we have developed I feel fits into the personalized experience for our kids. It’s a way for us to partner with our local community college to help our students,” Lake said.
