Let’s quit ‘beating’ up on poor little Fred Weber

To the editor:

I can’t believe someone actually said the community is “beating” up on Fred Weber.

This is the company that (allegedly) is determined to literally “trash” Oakville, (allegedly) totally mess up the traffic on Baumgartner and put people at risk from huge non-leaking (sure they are) garbage trucks and 18-wheelers, (allegedly) attract roaches, flies, mosquitoes, rats, and other vectors (that’s a euphemism for nasty things you don’t want around), and totally (allegedly) disregard the wishes of the community.

For once the county government is actually paying attention to what the residents want. But that doesn’t suit the financial plans (allegedly) of Fred Weber Inc.

They have the land on which to put this mess and the resources to (allegedly) keep coming at the community and government to wear them down.

And that is just what they are doing — allegedly, of course. Don’t want a SLAPP suit, you see. That’s what I mean by resources. They have lawyers on staff to sue the little guy to silence him or her (allegedly).

So let’s take up a collection for these good citizens who are getting beat up by homeowners, parents, drivers, and other nasty persons who don’t want a trash dump in their backyards while the potential owners live in a community without one.

And let’s quit “beating” up on poor little Fred Weber.
