Hundreds of restaurants donating proceeds today to Officer Snyder's family

Hundreds of restaurants in the region will donate at least 10 percent of their profits today – Tuesday, Nov. 1 – to fallen Affton Officer Blake Snyder’s family in a special Dine Out for Officer Snyder Day. The same event organizers also worked on the wildly successful Dine Out for Officer Mike Flamion Day this summer to benefit the Ballwin officer shot and paralyzed in a traffic stop in July.

Snyder, 33, was shot and killed in the early hours of Oct. 6 while responding to a disturbance call in Green Park. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and son Malachi.

Among the participating restaurants is the Blarney Stone in Oakville. The pub will be donating 25 percent of its regular sales and 50 percent of sales from first responders to BackStoppers for Officer Snyder. The sports bar will also have a 50/50 raffle and silent auctions throughout the day and night to help raise more money. Carryout orders will also count toward the donation.
