Five named National Merit Commended Students

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has named five Lindbergh High School students Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. Seniors, from left, Jacob Paule, Parker McDermott, Carmen Greiner, Zachary Foulks and Gretchen Rieckenberg, are among 34,000 students nationwide who have been recognized for their exceptional academic performance. Commended Students place among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. earlier announced that four LHS seniors — Alex Schaff, Jon Black, Natalie Schodl and Kyle Gibbs — have been named semifinalists in the program.
