Filing now under way for elections for municipal, school board seats

Filing for municipal and school board elections that will be conducted April 6 kicked off Tuesday — after the Call went to press — and will continue until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Aldermanic seats are up for election in the cities of Crestwood, Green Park and Sunset Hills.

In Sunset Hills, the mayoral seat held by James Hobbs and the collector’s seat held by Thomas Fleer also are up for election April 6.

In the Lindbergh and Mehlville school districts, two seats on each Board of Education are up for election.

In Crestwood, aldermanic seats held by Richard Breeding of Ward 1, current board President Gary Vincent of Ward 2, “Bernie” Alexander of Ward 3 and Pat Duwe of Ward 4. The seats carry three-year terms.

In Green Park, aldermanic seats held by Judy Betlach of Ward 1, Tony Konopka of Ward 2 and current board President Fred Baras of Ward 3 are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms.

Beside the mayoral and collector’s seats up for election in Sunset Hills, aldermanic seats held by Joe Rathert of Ward 1, John Smith of Ward 2, Robert Brockhaus of Ward 3 and A. Ron Kaemmerer of Ward 4 are up for election. All seats in Sunset Hills carry two-year terms.

In the Lindbergh School District, Board of Education seats held by Robert Bader and Larry McIntosh are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

In the Mehlville School District, Board of Education seats held by Rita Diekemper and Rich Huddleston are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.
