Conned by a ‘con man,’ Trump faithful should ‘dump Trump’ in 2020

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

Oakville resident Jim Marxkors wants The Call to stop publishing my letters!

He considers my criticisms of Donald Trump to be “left-wing, loony rants.” And, Jim wants the paper’s published letters to “…focus on issues pertinent to South County.” Marxkors is obviously unaware of The Call’s policy of one letter per month…me included.

And “left-wing, loony rants” are protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

As for focusing on issues pertinent to South County: Trump’s idiotic policies and political buffoonery adversely affect us all. South County residents will ultimately pay for Trump’s tax cuts, a gift to his ultra-wealthy buddies, because those cuts will raise the national debt, which will result in higher taxes and inflation.

And Trump’s thoughtless tariffs on a variety of goods will see South County residents and all Americans paying more for innumerable products. Et cetera.

Ironically, Democrats and Republicans alike are adversely affected by the policy decisions of Trump’s Republican lackeys at all levels of government — federal, state and local.

Yet the Trump faithful continue to gobble with glee every falsehood that their inept president spews, blatant or otherwise. Recently, even the Trump Television Network (Fox News) has called out POTUS for his idiocy.

And, as evidenced by the Nov. 6 election, many citizens continue to vote against their better interests.

Many supported Trump by voting for Republican candidates.

Will the Trump faithful ever figure out that they’re being hoodwinked by a notorious con man… and dump Trump in 2020? Hopefully, yes.
