Police issued charges Thursday against a Concord man for drunk driving after he pulled onto Lemay Ferry Road Thursday and struck and killed an Oakville motorcyclist.

Jacob Kaiser, 20, of the 3000 block of Oakvilla Manor Court in Oakville, died from his injuries after a crash Wednesday in which he was hit by an SUV that pulled into traffic, police said.

The SUV was driven by Murrell Ferguson, 58, of the 13400 block of Garden Circle Court in Concord.

St. Louis County prosecutors charged Ferguson Thursday with DWI – Death of Another Not a Passenger. He is being held on $100,000 cash-only bond, no 10 percent.

Ferguson’s blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was 0.082, police said.

The St. Louis County Police Department alleged in a probable-cause statement that Ferguson pulled onto Lemay Ferry and “failed to yield to oncoming traffic.”

Kaiser was traveling south on his motorcycle when he hit Ferguson’s SUV after it pulled into traffic, police said.

After the collision, Ferguson’s SUV continued off the road and hit gas pumps at the Phillips 66 station at 3307 Lemay Ferry Road, which caused a fire.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and the Accident Reconstruction Unit are conducting the investigation.
