In Green Park Ward 1, The Call endorses Michael Broughton. His dedication to transparency and prompt responsiveness highlights his readiness and respect for the electoral process, crucial traits for effective governance.

His opponent, Joshua Lang, did not return The Call’s questionnaire by the submission deadline, making him ineligible for endorsement. 

Green Park Ward 2

The Call endorses Kate McKay for Green Park Ward 2 Alderman. Her fresh, educated perspective could bring invaluable new ideas to the city’s future. 

The Call values experience like that of incumbent Ward 2 Alderman Ronald Slattery, but also recognizes the need for innovative approaches in governance to meet evolving community needs.

Sunset Hills mayor

Pat Fribis is seeking her fifth-term as mayor against newcomer to public office, Richard Gestring. 

It is always great to see newcomers running for public office. It is at the local level that the decisions that most affect folks’ daily lives are made, and seeing someone get involved firsthand is commendable.

However, jumping right into the mayoral post without having ever served in public office before, is somewhat like jumping into the deep end of the pool, without knowing how to swim and without floaties.  It would be wise to learn more about the workings of municipal government at a lower level before taking the helm. 

The Call endorses Pat Fribis for Sunset Hills mayor. Her commitment to the city’s well-being makes her the ideal candidate to continue guiding Sunset Hills.
