The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating the June 19 fatal striking of a bicyclist in Crestwood near Grant’s Trail.

The victim was an adult male, identified as David Crawford, 85, of Dupo, Illinois. 

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call about a motor vehicle crash in the 9900 block of Big Bend Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found a victim with life-threatening injuries who had been struck while riding his bicycle. Crawford was transported to an area hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
