Agape Adventure Academy, 9373 Garber Road, hosted an outdoor Courage Festival on Sept. 26. The small Christian school — which currently employs two teachers to teach seven students from age three through sixth grade — had multiple stations spaced around its outdoor classroom: a chess station, a “marketplace” to buy students’ creations, a creativity table and a table to try Hispanic drinks and crickets dipped in chocolate.
“Learning is quite an adventure, and the only way to grow is to try new things and get uncomfortable,” said April Maura Robert, the school’s founder and a teacher. “Part of this is to remind them, starting the whole school year, to be courageous and brave.”
The school was previously known as Little Leaders Academy, but it rebranded over the summer.
