Writer has some ideas about how to handle children seeking asylum

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

In response to Michael Broughton’s Oct. 17 letter, I agree with his concern for all the innocent children that are seeking asylum and die on the way.

We need to make sure their parents have abortions before they come up seeking asylum.

That way they won’t subject their kids to the sex-trade traffickers and others to exploit them.

We shouldn’t turn a blind eye to the parents that brought their children on the voyage; they should be in prison for as long as possible for child neglect. It is shameful that our government is abusing these kids and letting their parents off with warnings.

I have a solution. I think you, Michael Broughton, should sponsor some of the families coming up to live with you while they await their hearing and make sure they don’t miss their court date.

God did not provide us with curiosity and knowledge. That was Satan when he convinced Eve to eat the apple from the tree.
