To the editor:
When I read the article about the Sappington-Concord Historical Society from The Call’s Oct. 30 paper, I was reminded of how uncivil people can be, all while promoting the public good.
I especially noted how the guest speakers were forced to “pack up and leave.”
A few years ago, I was invited to make a presentation about the Appalachian mountain dulcimer to this group. While playing the instrument there was so much talking that the music was drowned out, so I cut my program short.
People who are full of themselves do not allow others to share their talents or opinions. Hopefully the new members will be a good influence on the “old school.”
