Suspect is in custody after South County shooting

A suspect is in custody after a shooting in Lemay Tuesday night.

The South County Precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a call for service at roughly 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Kingston Drive.

Officers found a 36-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital for life-saving treatment.

Police said the shooting happened after an altercation between the man and the suspect, who was someone he knew.

A suspect was taken into custody.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is leading this investigation, which remains “very active” at this time, police said.

The same block of Kingston Drive was the site of a stabbing nearly a year ago, in which a woman was charged with attacking a man she was dating.
