Stenger elected ‘county executor’ and Better Together merger is a ‘lie’

To the editor:

First, the bad: Steve Stenger was elected as “County Executor.”

The uninformed voted for a guy who is going to advocate for a county-city merger. So get ready to take on the corrupt city leadership and the city crime. Better Together is a big lie. The voters need to reject this. Stenger doesn’t even cooperate with the County Council, so expect more fighting in that area. Little will get done.

Stenger will shove MetroLink expansion down the throats of south countians. If Stenger and St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson succeed in getting expansion into south county, residents can expect increased crime. MetroLink is unsafe.

St. Louis voted against right-to-work. Thousands of jobs and new business will be going to right-to-work states like Florida, Texas and South Carolina. The unions claimed that right-to-work would cost workers about $8,600. I’d like to know who came up with that bogus fake number. Unions don’t create jobs, they fill jobs that private and government sectors create.

If Richard Trumka, the AFL-CIO union leader, had any intelligence, he should partner with President Trump on the wall by getting Democrats to vote for the border wall and then Trump could agree to let the union build it.

Second, the good: Missouri is a red state.
