All South County public schools are closing today in anticipation of an ice storm.

The Mehlville School District, Lindbergh Schools, the Affton School District, Bayless Schools and Hancock Place School District all called off school Friday, with all after school activities canceled as well.

In addition to schools closing, Lindbergh offices will close too, the district said. That includes before-school activities, Flyers Club and Lindbergh Early Childhood Education.

The National Weather Service is predicting ice, snow and sleet later today that they expect will create dangerous driving conditions for our buses, families and staff,” Lindbergh posted.

Schools were already closed in Lindbergh for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday Monday, which means the district will get a four-day weekend.

As the fourth snow day this year, school in Mehlville will now end May 27.

“Happy #AfftonSnowDay!” the Affton School District posted on its Facebook page. “Enjoy your four-day weekend, and stay safe and warm!”

All before and after school activities in Affton will be canceled, along with Cougar Care. The snow day will be made up Friday, April 10.

The Bayless closure will affect all school-related activities, including practices, games and meetings.
