Friday, March 17

• St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 Buckley Road, is hosting a fish fry every Friday  from 4 to 7 p.m. now through the end of March. There will be dine-in and carry-out meals available. Cost is about $13 a meal.

• St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 2761 Telegraph Road, is hosting a fish fry every Friday, including Good Friday, until Easter from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 18

• The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting a special presentation about its new exhibit, “Slavery in St. Louis” at 10 a.m. Historian and museum curator Nick Sacco will discuss the creation of the exhibit about the history of slavery in St. Louis. Using primary sources, historical artifacts, and individual stories of enslavement, this exhibit introduces visitors to the ways slavery shaped St. Louis’s political, economic and social history for 100 years. Sunday, March 19

• The Crestwood Elks are holding a spring meat shoot every Sunday at 11 a.m. from now through March 26 at the Crestwood Elks Lodge 2503, 10261 Bauer Road. Free soup and chili for all.

Monday, March 20

• The Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, is hosting open pickleball from noon – 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 – 3:15 p.m. Admission is $2 per person or free for Renew Active and SilverSneakers members.
