Man found stabbed to death near Shrewsbury Walmart


Two persons of interest were taken into custody Tuesday after a man was found stabbed to death Monday near the Shrewsbury Walmart in what appears to be a possible homicide.

Police said they found the victim, a man about 33 years old already dead with multiple stab wounds, around 9:20 p.m. Monday in a wooded area in the vicinity of the Walmart at the 7400 block of Watson Road.

The body was found near Walmart, an area that is near Mackenzie and areas of Affton along Watson Road.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man killed or the persons of interest, who they only identified as a man, 28, and a woman, 21.

The Shrewsbury Police Department requested assistance at the scene Monday night from detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons to investigate a call for a suspicious death or possible homicide. The county unit is leading the investigation.
