Rogers Elementary pupils to present musical comedy, A ‘Will of His Own’

The Rogers Elementary School Drama Club will perform an original musical comedy, “A Will of His Own,” at 7 p.m. today, March 27, and Saturday, March 29, in the school gym, 7700 Fine Road.

Cast members for “A Will of His Own” are 31 Rogers Elementary fifth- and sixth-graders, according to a district news re-lease. Teacher Sharon Schrader and former Rogers parent Lisa Wright are co-producing the play. They also co-wrote the script and musical numbers for the play.

Assisting with “A Will of His Own” are teachers Barb Marquez and Brenda Szyd-lowski. Choreography assistance for the play is provided by Christine Schrader and Cheri Blase.

The plot of “A Will of His Own” in-volves an elderly rich bachelor who be-lieves his relatives and friends are after his money.

To reveal their true motives, he fakes his own disappearance with the help of his trusty butler.

The real fun begins when the friends and relatives discover him missing and begin questioning each other about their claims to his fortune.

Primary characters in the play are Lamar Tunnabucks (Warren Crow), Jeeves the Butler (Tony Burgesen), Detective Find-zum (Curtis Luebbering), Reba (Dannah Basgall), Lillian (Cassi Greenlee), Crystal (Trish Duran), Lamont (Max Heddell) and Golda (Johnna Kussman).

Tickets for “A Will of His Own” cost $2 and are available at the school.

The play runs about one hour and twenty minutes. It is age appropriate for fourth grade through adult, the release stated.
