Over the next couple of weeks, drop off your undecorated, natural Christmas trees at a St. Louis County park to be recycled. This opportunity to dispose of your tree in an environmentally friendly way will last through Jan. 18, and trees can be left at one of four designated locations:
- Bee Tree Park, 2701 Finestown Ave., 63119
- Creve Coeur Lake, 13777 Marine Ave., 63146
- Queeny Park, 550 Weidman Road, 63011
- Spanish Lake Park, 12500 Spanish Pond Road, 63138
Only trees from residential homes will be accepted, and all ornaments, lights, tinsel and decorations must be removed before drop-off.
According to the St. Louis County Parks and Recreation Department, some trees will be sunk in Spanish Lake by the Missouri Department of Conservation in order to create fish habitats. Others will be mulched and used for landscaping and conservation projects.
