To the editor:
I have noticed these past few years, especially in St. Louis, that our police officers are not shown the most love and support.
It has to do with the events of Ferguson, and then the Jason Stockley verdict. I believe that if we could fund the police more, they could possibly receive better training and that would lead to less deadly police encounters.
Also, another way that our neighborhoods could feel safer with the police is a better relationship with them. It would mean that our police would not hesitate going into our neighborhoods like what is happening in Baltimore.
Our police work a very stressful job. The most we can do is support and help fund them better.
And in turn it would help us, as there would hopefully be fewer deadly police encounters and a safer community.
