To the editor:
I read this “revenue” article with disgust. The article proposes it was not right for senior citizens to be given a break on their ever-increasing property taxes annually. Are seniors supposed to feel guilty about the tax freeze? Inflation is hard on seniors on fixed income, which includes property taxes. Referring to taxes as revenue is political blatherskite. The writer needs to do better research and ask senior citizens about their taxes and expenses, rather than sitting with school boards who continue to get pay raises every year and complain about “revenue” losses, and do reality-based reviews of their annual budgets. I fully expect next spring/summer to see panic commentaries about “sudden” spending shortfalls for school boards.
