To the editor:
In response to Ms. Susan Mroz’s April 25 letter regarding her “professional” opinion that President Trump is mentally unhinged, she references the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) as the basis of her claim.
In particular, her group cites the president as suffering from narcisstic personality disorder, or NPD.
I suggest that she research Dr. Allen Frances, a professor emeritus at Duke University who wrote the NPD criteria in the DSM and who stated that President Trump does not meet them.
Hopefully, Ms. Mroz, you treat your patients face to face in a clinical setting rather than conclude your diagnoses based on hearsay and bias.
