Rainy weather doesn’t dampen Special Olympics

Driving rain could not stop hundreds of Lindbergh High School volunteers and their Special School District athlete buddies from enjoying a day of softball, food, games and fun during the school’s Special Olympics at the Affton Athletic Association.

The LHS Student Council organized the annual event, which brought together more than 300 LHS volunteers and more than 290 student athletes on April 2.

Although the morning was a wet one, the clouds parted and the sun was shining for the opening ceremonies and first round of game play. The weather could not dampen the spirits of all the buddies who experienced friendship and fun as they played ball, explored Victory Village and enjoyed lunch together, a news release stated.
