Public Service Commission sets two local hearings on AmerenUE’s proposed rate hike

The Missouri Public Service Commission will conduct two public hearings locally next week on AmerenUE’s proposed electric rate increase.

AmerenUE has asked the PSC to approve a rate hike to raise company revenues by roughly $402 million, which would offset fuel cost increases. For the average residential customer, the proposed rate increase would be roughly 18 percent, or $14 per month, according to the electric company.

Customers can comment on the proposal at the following public hearings next week:

• From 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in Room 105 of the Business Administration Building at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, 11333 Big Bend Road.

• From 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in the Roy Wilde Conference Center in the Fox School District, 849 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold.

A question-and-answer session will be conducted 30 minutes before the beginning of each hearing.

Customers who cannot attend but still would like to comment or receive more information on the proposal can contact the PSC by mail, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, MO 65102; telephone (800) 392-4211; or e-mail pscinfo@psc.mo.gov.

Comments also can be made in the case using the PSC’s electronic filing system at
