Like everything this year, proms at both Oakville and Mehlville high schools are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and will not happen as usual.

A “senior event” that will be an alternative to prom is happening in a tent at each school’s parking lot for that school’s seniors only. Mehlville High School will hold its prom Saturday, May 8, while the Oakville prom will be held Saturday, May 15.

Middle schools were still figuring out how to handle eighth-grade graduations at the time The Call went to press.

“The middle schools are getting creative and looking to have more outdoor events with limited outside attendance,” said Communications Director Jessica Pupillo.

High-school graduation will be held for Mehlville High at 7 p.m. Monday, June 7 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, with Oakville High graduation held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 8.
