Editor’s note: The victim has since been identified as Michael Dade, 34, of the 5700 block of Huntington Valley Court, 63129.  Additional information will be disseminated as it becomes available. 

An investigation is underway for a Dec. 26 fatal motorcycle crash that took place on the 6300 block of Lemay Ferry Road near the intersection of Meramec View Drive. An adult male, now identifed as Michael Dade, was killed.

On Friday at 1:28 p.m., St. Louis County police officers from the South County precinct responded to a call about a motor vehicle crash near the intersection. After a preliminary investigation, officers discovered that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Lemay Ferry Road when his motorcycle left the roadway and crashed in a nearby wooded area. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries.

This is an active investigation, and details could change as the investigation progresses.
