The Lindbergh Board of Education has hired Ta’Keshia Parker as the new assistant principal of Sappington Elementary School for the 2015-2016 school year.

Parker was selected this year as Kirkwood School District’s Teacher of the Year by her peers for her excellent work as a third-grade teacher at Keysor Elementary.

Parker brings nine years of education experience to Sappington. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University, a master of arts degree in school administration from Lin-denwood University, a master of arts degree in teaching from Webster University and a bachelor of arts degree in English at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Of Parker, Sapping-ton Principal Craig Hamby stated, “She is a very strong in-structional leader, and her strengths will be a great asset to our community as we continue our journey as 21st-century learners. I am confident that her passion and dedication to students will make her a perfect fit for Sappington.”

Parker replaces Angie Moehlmann, who was named Concord Elementary principal.
