This year is the 70th anniversary of the Nottelmann Music Company, and to celebrate, the company is putting on an All-Star Jazz Showcase in November.
The All Star Jazz Showcase will take place Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Keating Theater at Kirkwood High School, 800 Dougherty Ferry Road. The concert and accompanying donation program will benefit the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School band. On Oct. 24, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at the school, resulting in two people killed and seven injured. The school and music program are still recovering from the event. All ticket proceeds from the All Star Jazz Showcase will benefit the CVPA High School band.
The showcase will feature the Jim Manley Band, the Funky Butt Brass Band, the Webster Faculty Jazz Ensemble, the Kendrick Smith Quartet, the Jazz St. Louis JazzU All-Stars, the Claire Maue Trio and pianist Ken Kehner.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Nottelmannmusic.com/allstarshowcase. Tickets are $100 for platinum level seating, $50 for gold level seating, $25 for general admission and $10 for students enrolled in an elementary or secondary school.
